Job Description
Job responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Month and year end processes and financial accounting of complex transactions including tax and royalty provisions.
- Completion of provisional tax calculations.
- Review of financial transactions prepared by junior team members to ensure IFRS compliance.
- Oversee the VAT, income tax and royalty return compilations including preparation of taxation schedules for purposes of the annual tax return submission.
- Assistance with statutory financial reporting of the AAP financial statements on a bi-annual basis
- Preparation and review of ad hoc month end tasks.
- Changing plans and schedules to minimize the effect of unexpected problems
- Standardise reporting and implement processes
- CA(SA) qualification
- Mining tax or related qualification
- At least eight years work experience with some time in mining or related environment
- Mining tax or related experience essential
- Taxation
- Strong knowledge of mining tax
- Operations:
- Project management fundamentals
- New technologies and their impact on operational activities within scope of role
- Business improvement tools and techniques
