Senior Manager: Crypto Services

The role Senior Manager: Crypto Services is to oversee an existing Crypto business built over many years, including research and development of new offerings across our cyber security business. The role involves managing many OEM relationships, managing a small team of senior software engineers, channel managers and some direct salespeople, as well as managing and developing the channel of resellers across Africa.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop and manage the business plan for the business unit
  • Manage and drive opportunities with the reseller channel
  • Research and develop new offerings in the crypto and cyber security businesses
  • Value articulation of offerings to the Sales team, resellers and end-customers
  • Meet business unit financial targets
  • Establishes productive, professional relationships with key personnel in assigned partner accounts
  • Coordinates the involvement of company personnel, including support, service, and management resources, to meet partner performance objectives and partners expectations
  • Manage the strategic direction for the business unit
  • Proactively leads a joint partner planning process that develops mutual performance objectives, financial targets, and critical milestones associated with a productive partner relationship
  • Proactively assesses, clarifies, and validates partner needs on an ongoing basis
  • Sells through partner organisations to end users in coordination with partner sales resources
  • Manages potential channel conflict with other firm sales channels by fostering excellent communication internally and externally, and through strict adherence to channel rules of engagement
  • Leads solution development efforts that best address end-user needs, while coordinating the involvement of all necessary company and partner personnel
  • Ensures partner compliance with partner agreements
  • Drives adoption of company programs among assigned partners
  • Proactively recruits new qualifying partners
  • Contracting and pricing negotiation with partners, OEMs, and some customers
  • Manage the team and ensure that training is kept up to date
  • Collaboration within Altron Digital Business and other Altron divisions where required
  • Manage the costs related to the budget
  • Manage OEM relationships to foster growth
  • Ensure that processes and updated as required to align with business requirements
  • Marketing initiatives and planning. This includes Podcasts, events, Digital Media Campaigns etc.
  • Retaining scarce and critical skills by ensuring that their personal growth aspirations are attained
  • Analysing market trends Competitors per segment and region.
  • Conducting presentations at senior level and in front of live audiences
  • Attending relevant sales exhibitions and conferences In South Africa as well as in the rest of Africa

  • Manage attrition and improve employee engagement
  • Meets assigned expectations for profitability
  • Completes partner account plans that meet company standards
  • Maintains high partner and customer satisfaction ratings that meet company standards
  • Completes required training and development objectives within the assigned time frame
ORGANISATIONAL ALIGNMENT:
  • Reports to the Executive: Data & AI at Altron Digital Business
  • Enlists the support of sales specialists, implementation resources, service resources, and other sales and management resources as needed
  • Forms part of the Practice Leadership Team
  • Closely coordinates company management involvement with partner and end-user customer management as appropriate
  • Works closely with Customer Service Representatives to ensure customer satisfaction and problem resolution
  • This position has eight direct report staff assigned to support responsibilities within specific partner and customer accounts
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Recommended: Four-year degree from an accredited institution
  • Required: Minimum 5 years of senior level channel sales experience in a business to-business sales environment
  • Preferable: MBA
  • Understanding of Hardware Security Modules advantageous
  • Understanding of Cyber Security advantageous
