Service Contact Technician

The Role:

• Provides technical support in Electrical and Mechanical Maintenance. Maintains and improves machines and equipment to increase or maintain a high level of reliability, availability, cost efficiency and performance and customer relations, and teamwork.
• Repair, maintain, inspect, and commission the LS170, LS190, LS312 and Mercury equipment at customer site.
• Report, capture and document results at end of every shift to Foreman, Control Room, and team.
• Responsible for plan, conduct and maintain tools and equipment for service work.
• Support the customers product/equipment/processes by suggesting possible improvements.
• Provide technical support to the sales team.
• Provide problem solving to customer and team.
• Ability to produce positive results in sales-client interventions.
• Guide colleagues in service/operational methods and tools.
• Share own knowledge to enable colleagues to expand their knowledge.
• Proximity Detection Interface (PDI) experience.

Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification
• Trade Certificate in Diesel Mechanic or Millwright with diesel equipment experience
• Minimum 2 years experience working as Technician with proven competence in mining equipment (underground)
• Flameproofing certificate
• Gas Testing certificate
• Basic computer literacy
• English proficiency
• Valid driver's license and own reliable transport
• Full physical and medical certificate to work in mining environment
• Experience in: Fault finding hydraulic, electrical, drive train, and diesel offerings
