Skills development officer needed

Skills development officer is required in Pretoria.

Job responsibilities:

  • In this role you'll handle the learning and professional development of an organisation's workforce. You might also be known as a learning and development officer.
  • It is your job to equip staff with the knowledge, practical skills and motivation to carry out work-related tasks. You'll either deliver the training yourself or arrange for a third party trainer to do it.
  • Skills development officers help with the ongoing, long-term improvement of employees' skills, enabling them to fulfil their potential within their organisation.
  • Increasingly, training and development officers are required to be strategic rather than reactive, assessing the skills and knowledge within an organisation and determining what training is needed to grow and retain these skills.
  • Prepare and Submission of WSP and ATR
  • Liaison and relationship Management with INSETA/CATHSETA
  • Sourcing of SDF Training Providers
  • Management of internships and Learnership Programs
  • Management of INSETA/CATHSETA bursaries and Short Skills Programs
  • Preparation and dissemination of SDF Reports
  • Management of PGC Wellness Programs
  • Management of Employment Equity interventions & Reporting

Job requirements:

  • 3 years Learning & Development experience
  • Experience in delivering the full learning and development cycle
  • Intermediate MS Office Skills
  • Experience and evidence of coaching and leadership
  • Material Design Experience
  • Experience and evidence of working in a complex, changing, fast-paced environment
  • Experience and evidence of managing new entrants through induction/probation
  • 3 year qualification in Human Resources and/or any similar qualification
  • Postgraduate qualification would be advantageous;
  • Knowledge of SDA, SDLA, SETA’s, SAQA, SABPP and any quality assurance or mandatory and/or discretionary grant and//or tender procedures;
  • Facilitating, assessing and moderating learner portfolios knowledge
  • Process improvement skills
