Job Description
Were looking for a hands-on social media intern to help keep SPPs platforms active, organised and moving, so stories from the ground dont get stuck in drafts or WhatsApp folders.
This is a practical, publishing-focused role inside a social justice organisation. Youll be working with real campaigns, real communities and real deadlines.
This role is ideal if you want to learn how social media works inside a social justice organisation, not an influencer brand. Youll work closely with the Communications Coordinator and campaigns team to make sure SPPs work on land, agroecology and community struggles reaches people in a clear and powerful way.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Posting content on Instagram, Facebook, X, Bluesky TikTok and LinkedIn
- Scheduling posts weekly and monthly
- Turning approved content into live posts
- Writing and adapting captions from provided copy
- Uploading reels, carousels and stories
- Monitoring comments and messages and flagging anything important
- Tracking engagement and compiling monthly social media insights
- Helping keep our feeds consistent and up to date
You should be someone who:
- Understands how social media platforms actually work
- Is comfortable using analytics and scheduling tools such as Meta Business Suite, X Analytics, LinkedIn Analytics, Buffer, Hootsuite or similar
- Knows how to use insights and basic SEO to improve reach, timing and visibility of posts
- Is creative with TikTok, Reels and short-form video, and stays up to date with digital trends and platform changes
- Can follow organisational and political messaging
- Is organised, detail-oriented and reliable
- Cares about land justice, food sovereignty and grassroots struggles
