Job Duties
- Assist Head Chef in menu planning and creation of new dishes
- Supervise and train kitchen staff in food preparation and presentation
- Oversee food production and maintain high quality standards
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the kitchen
- Manage kitchen inventory and control food costs
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and best practises
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
- Relevant food safety certification
Diploma or degree in Culinary Arts or related field
Experience
Minimum 3 years of experience in a professional kitchen
Knowledge And Skills
- Proficiency in menu planning and food costing
- Strong understanding of kitchen operations and management
- Creative flair and passion for culinary arts
- Knowledge of international cuisines
- Previous experience in a luxury hotel or fine dining restaurant
- Culinary certifications or additional training
This role requires standing for long periods, working in a hot and fast-paced kitchen environment. Evening, weekend, and holiday shifts may be required.
