Role Purpose
Maintain Antenna Systems, Quality Compliance and Safety.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
Ensure site compliance with Vodacom standards for RF antenna installations, rigging and maintenance.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to RF antennas, feeders, connections, fibre, and associated equipment.
Tower Climbing and Rigging: Climb communication towers. Conduct site audits. Ensure rigging tasks, including mounting antennas, securing cables, and grounding systems are installed correctly.
Support Radio Planning engineers by completing antenna azimuth and tilt angles changes on request.
Conduct site audits and ensure database records of antenna installations are accurate.
Use specialized tools and equipment to align antennas accurately.
Safety Compliance: Prioritize safety in all aspects of the work. Adhere to safety regulations, for tower climbing and rigging, and use proper personal protective equipment (PPE) to minimize risks and hazards.
Conduct drive/walk tests and customer visits.
The Ideal Candidate For This Role Will Have
Technical / Professional Qualifications:
Matric Certificate
Telecommunications (GSM & UTRAN) courses essential
2 - 3 years relevant GSM, Radio Maintenance experience
Valid Drivers Licence
Industry-recognized certifications related to tower climbing, rigging, and safety
Core Competencies, Knowledge, And Experience
Computer applications (e.g. MS Office)
2GSM Knowledge GSM, UMTS & LTE knowledge, Network components
Using Safety Equipment PPE, Climbing Gear, Alignment Tools
Statistical tools, Sonar, Atoll
Not have a fear of heights.
