A South African early childhood development company with a strong commitment to learning and development, is searching for a dynamic Supply Chain and Procurement Specialist to join their team.
As a key member reporting to the Operations Manager, you will lead the purchasing process and offer expert guidance on sourcing and procurement strategies. Your role includes ensuring cost-effective acquisitions of goods and services while upholding quality standards in line with company policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement strategies, engaging reliable suppliers, and overseeing the tender process.
- Manage supplier database, ensuring due diligence and fostering long-term vendor relationships.
- Control the procurement budget and enhance procurement processes/systems.
- Monitor IT systems for shipment and inventory tracking, while ensuring strict compliance with procurement rules.
- Provide training on procurement policies and processes to staff.
- Evaluate and report on service provider performance and identify preferred suppliers based on specific criteria.
- Review and renegotiate contracts with suppliers, assess existing contract feasibility, and conduct risk assessments for potential contracts.
- Ensure contract deliveries align with supplier agreements.
- Execute preferential procurement principles in line with BBBEE, offering guidance on relevant public legislation and policy.
- Lead BBBEE audits, monitor local and BBBEE procurement performance, and ensure monthly BBBEE reporting.
- Bachelors degree in supply chain management, accounting, logistics, or business administration.
- Experience in managing supply chain operations.
- Proficiency with supply chain management software and tools.
- Strong contract management skills.
