Join our team. We are looking for a highly motivated, ambitious Facultative Underwriter Property for the Southern- and South-African markets.
As an integral part of Facultative Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA), we're a diverse and international team of very experienced underwriters with long-standing relationships into our markets, building on a very high level of single risks underwriting expertise and with a strong track record. We're looking to complement and strengthen our team with someone bringing experience in underwriting, a fresh view, and innovative ideas as well as an entrepreneurial spirit and energy.
Your job will entail originating, evaluating, and underwriting facultative business within your assigned portfolios. You will be able to assess a wide range of risk types with your experience and by utilizing state-of-the-art models. An important part of your role will be to foster client and broker relationships and develop new opportunities with prospective clients. You will collaborate with client managers, market underwriters and treaty underwriters in a cross-functional team. Together we build on our partnerships with our clients and share our knowledge, with the objective to bring value for the client and Swiss Re. This role offers you lots of space to develop own ideas and find creative solutions.

About You
We are happy to meet you if
- you hold a University degree or equivalent
- you have at least 5 years of experience in insurance or reinsurance, preferably Property-related
- you see yourself as a sales person and dealmaker
- you have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, any additional language is a plus
- you are pragmatic, solution- and result-oriented
- you are attracted by working in an international environment
- you are an outstanding teammate who can work independently and takes responsibility for making decisions
- you are open-minded, trustworthy, enthusiastic and curious to learn
