Junior Business Development Manager

SynergERP is a well-established technology solutions provider and an award-winning Sage reseller with operations in South Africa & Middle East.

Over the last 30 years, we have steadily grown our business by focusing on Enterprise Resource Planning ERP & Human Capital Management HCM software products. In recent years with the rapid evolution of exciting technology like AI and RPA, we have established a separate department that focuses on Process Optimization and Automation. We have adopted multiple toolsets which weve productised against common use cases. Our company-wide mission remains the same to enable businesses to solve their challenges and achieve financial and operational excellence using technology as an enabler.

We are looking for someone who is charismatic, dynamic & confident, someone who loves getting in front of people and is able to articulate themselves well. This go-getter needs to be target-driven always hungry to achieve more & earn more.

The successful candidate will be based in Gauteng. The SynergERP work environment is flexible and allows for sales employees to work from home when not at client and other work-related meetings and events. This is an attractive offering to most but is only successful if the candidate is independent and motivated results are key in this environment.

Duties And Responsibilities

Activity Upkeep & Reporting
  • Maintain Salesforce (the CRM Tool in use) and any additional reporting requirements.
Customer research and profiling
  • Conduct thorough market research to identify potential clients, industries, and verticals for Automation Tools.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor offerings, and customer needs to refine sales strategies.
  • Understand and articulate the SynergERP / SynergAutomate / SynergProcess Value Proposition.
  • Be able to sell a solution and not a product, i.e., consultative selling (your role is to help the client realize where there are inefficiencies)
Lead Generation & Prospecting (through your own efforts)
  • Generate and qualify leads through various channels including networking, referrals, industry events, digital efforts & cold calling.
  • Build and manage a robust sales pipeline to ensure consistent revenue generation SQOs are monitored monthly.
  • Schedule appointments with Decision Makers.
  • Overcome obstacles in reaching the decision-makers.
Outside of your own efforts, Leads and opportunities may be generated through other channels which you will be expected to qualify and run with, for example: -
  • Marketing Leads (may include international opportunities).
  • Leads Generated from ERP / HCM BDMs and/or from the Consultant Pool and/or from within the existing customer base.
Task and process management
  • Collaborate with the technical team to understand customer requirements and tailor solutions to meet their specific needs.
  • Provide valuable insights to enhance product features and functionalities based on client feedback.
  • Follow the prescribed SynergERP sales methodology.
Negotiating and closing
  • Promote and emphasize the business case for change and ROI.
  • Pre-empt and manage objections.
  • Understand the clients buying and decision-making process and manage both internal and external expectations.
  • Obtain & assess pricing for reasonability and accuracy.
  • Prepare professional & detailed tailored proposals.
Continuous relationship building
  • Be a trusted advisor to clients.
  • Know when to involve internal stakeholders at client engagements.
  • Educate the client throughout the process.
  • Provide content, resources and tools required to make an informed decision.
  • Maintain a good relationship with SynergERPs business partners.
Education And Experience
  • Bachelors degree in business administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field (beneficial).
  • At least 2 Years in Business Development or Sales (beneficial).
Technical Proficiency (beneficial)
  • Understanding of Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies.
  • Familiarity with industry-leading automation tools and platforms.
