PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The purpose of a Talent Coordinator Intern role is to assist in the recruitment and management of talent for an organization or project. As an intern, you will work under the guidance of a Talent Acquisition Specialist or OD Specialist and support them in their day-to-day tasks.

Your responsibilities may include tasks such as posting job listings, screening resumes and applications, scheduling interviews, conducting phone and in-person interviews, checking references, and assisting with onboarding new hires. You may also help manage the talent database, update employee files, and support the coordination of training and development programs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support the Talent Acquisition team, as well as the broader Talent team, as required within the recruitment and Talent functions by:
  • Taking ownership of ensuring that all job postings, job descriptions, and position requirements are up to date on all our advertising platforms.
  • Advertising roles on the relevant job portals and websites.
  • Assisting in keeping the careers page up to date.
  • Sourcing candidates using a variety of search methods as well as execute active outreach strategies, as informed by the Talent Acquisition team.
  • Screening candidates by reviewing CVs and job applications and performing initial screening calls.
  • Shortlist qualified candidates to be interviewed by hiring managers.
  • Scheduling of all meetings with the candidates.
  • Keeping candidates informed on their progress throughout the recruitment pipeline.
  • Staying in constant communication with candidates in the recruitment pipeline.
  • Conducting interviews when required.
  • Administering Technical Assessments to candidates.
  • Conducting all the relevant background checking and referencing.
  • Providing recruitment reports to the relevant Talent Acquisition Specialist.
  • Updating and keeping the Applicant Tracking System and relevant candidate administration up to date.
  • Ensure that best practice recruitment guidelines are administered throughout the recruitment process.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:
  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resource Management or Industrial Psychology or Business Administration.
  • In the process of studying toward being an Industrial psychologist or Psychometrist.
  • Recruitment experience is advantageous.
  • Experience with ATS systems is advantageous.
  • Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills, building strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to achieve common goals.
  • Works effectively and efficiently under pressure, able to prioritize and meet competing deadlines without compromising on quality.
  • Has exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and completeness in all tasks, and consistently producing high-quality work.
  • Demonstrates a strong sense of urgency, able to prioritize and take action quickly to meet deadlines and goals.
  • Demonstrates strong organizational and planning skills, effectively manages time, prioritizes tasks, and consistently meets deadlines.
  • Takes proactive measures to anticipate and address issues before they become problems.
  • Adapts quickly to changing priorities and situations, adjusting plans and approach as necessary.
  • Promptly responds to requests and inquiries from colleagues, clients, and customers, ensuring a high level of service.
