Team Leader Intensive Care Pathway

Job Summary

We are seeking to develop an intensive home-based eating disorder treatment pathway in the form of an enhanced care pathway (Intensive Care Pathway - ICP). These forms of treatment have the potential to minimise inpatient admissions (including out-of-area placements), reduce length of stay in inpatient settings and improve experience of discharge from inpatient care as set out in the NHS Long Term Plan.

We are very excited to be developing the ARFID and ICP pathways in Kent and Medway which requires a number of new staff positions.

Main duties of the job

As the Intensive Care Pathway Team team leader you will be leading our clinical support workers and skilled clinicians ensuring they are working in line with trust and professional standards. You will work closely and collaboratively with the Integrated Team Manager, other professionals working within NELFT, KCC, acute trust colleagues, and the provider collaborative. You will offer clinical supervision to the team, offer guidance to the team where necessary, attend and represent the team in professional and MDT meetings, and support with the establishment of this new pathway.

This post is suitable for registered nurses with the relevant experience in mental health services or an acute or community mental health setting. You should enjoy working within a busy and challenging environment, and must be able to work effectively under pressure. You will have a thorough knowledge of mental illness and therapeutic interventions. As a senior member of staff, you will have the experience required to co-ordinate the workload of the team on a regular basis and to offer support and supervision within the team. We are looking for candidates who have demonstrable knowledge, understanding and experience of working with the legal frameworks which relate to the care and treatment of children and young people in crisis. In particular the Children Act 1989, Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Mental Health Act 1983 (as amended in 2007).
