Job description

Chery South Africa is proud to introduce iCAUR, an exciting new global automotive brand entering the South African market. As part of this strategic launch, we are seeking a highly experienced and driven Aftersales / Technical Manager to establish, lead, and develop the brands after sales and technical operations nationally.
This role is critical in ensuring world-class customer satisfaction, dealer network readiness, and technical excellence in line with Chery Group and iCAUR global standards.

Key Responsibilities
The Aftersales / Technical Manager will be responsible for the full after sales and technical function for iCAUR in South Africa, including but not limited to:
1- After-sales & Technical Operations
- Establish and manage all after-sales, technical support, warranty, and field operations for the iCAUR brand
- Develop and implement aftersales strategies aligned with iCAUR global and Chery South Africa objectives
- Ensure adherence to manufacturer standards for service, technical diagnostics, and repairs
- Oversee technical issue escalation, root cause analysis, and corrective action processes
- Manage vehicle quality concerns, recalls, and service campaigns where applicable

2- Dealer Network Support & Development
- Support and develop the dealer network to ensure after-sales readiness for brand launch and growth
- Define and implement dealer Aftersales Standards, KPIs, and operational guidelines
- Conduct regular dealer performance reviews, audits, and technical assessments
- Provide technical and operational support to dealer service departments
- Drive improvement in customer satisfaction (CSI), service retention, and warranty cost management

3- Warranty & Technical Compliance
- Manage warranty operations, policy implementation, and cost controls
- Ensure accurate warranty claims processing in line with manufacturer guidelines
- Monitor technical trends and warranty data to proactively address quality issues
- Ensure compliance with South African regulatory and homologation requirements relating to aftersales and service

4- Training & Capability Development
- Work closely with Training teams to ensure technical training programs meet local market needs
- Support certification of dealer technicians and service managers
- Identify skills gaps and support the development of a highly competent technical workforce

5- Stakeholder & OEM Liaison
- Act as the primary technical and aftersales liaison between iCAUR Global, Chery Group, and Chery South Africa
- Coordinate technical communication, service bulletins, and product updates
- Support pre-launch vehicle preparation, technical documentation, and service readiness

Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 510 years experience in automotive after sales and technical management
- Proven experience working with OEMs, importers, or national distributor operations
- Strong understanding of:
o NEV Automotive diagnostics and repair processes
o Warranty management and cost control
o Dealer network operations and development
o Experience with new brand or model launches will be highly advantageous
o Experience with NEV vehicles requiered

Tertiary qualification in:
- Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related technical field (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of the South African automotive retail and aftersales landscape
