The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering, with a specific focus on road construction projects, and a proven ability to manage site operations, contracts, and engineering standards in line with industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of road construction and maintenance projects.
Coordinate with site agents, contractors, and engineers to ensure projects are implemented efficiently and in compliance with specifications and regulations.
Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets to ensure successful delivery within scope.
Compile and review technical reports, plans, and documentation to meet client and legislative requirements.
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders, ensuring timely and effective communication and service delivery.
Build and maintain strong relationships with government departments, service providers, and other key stakeholders to support project alignment and success.
Address and resolve client issues or complaints, escalating complex matters as needed.
Monitor service delivery, gather client feedback, and produce reports to assess performance and identify areas for improvement.
Minimum Requirements:
- Education: National Diploma in Civil Engineering or higher.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in road construction in roles such as Site Agent, Contracts Manager, or Resident Engineer.
- Preference will be given to candidates with experience on SANRAL and Provincial Road projects.
- Location: Must be based in East London or willing to relocate.
- Strong technical knowledge of road construction methods, materials, and design standards.
