Technical Support Technician

Taropa Technologies is seeking a highly motivated and knowledgeable Technical Support
responsible for service delivery and on-going support both remotely and on-site) of products
and technology in the Taropa Technologies portfolio. They are indirectly responsible for the
support of profitable sales through supporting the account managers.

DUTIES AND TASKS
The duties include the following, but other duties may be assigned from time to time:
Assists with stock takes.
Keeps abreast of Market trends.
Resolve technical issues and offer proactive technical support.
Complete required reports on activity on a regular and timely basis.
Attend meetings as stipulated or scheduled by the company management team.
Working both remotely and on customer sites where appropriate to perform tasks.
Customer liaison to project requirements, scope and integration with existing systems.
Testing of software applications or hardware devices that may be deployed to enhance solution.
Work with all company personnel responsible for the on-going quality service as required by the client - Management team, product managers, technical consultants, sales consultants, counter sales, procurement, warehousing, operations, finance and administration.
Support the sales personnel to maintain contact, meets and visits local authorities and approval agencies.
Development of tools that may be used by others to help provision, manage or troubleshoot deployments.
Support the sales personnel to negotiate prices within the established procedure to ensure profitable sales orders.
Support sales personnel to expand customer base, maintains and develops customer relationships on a long-term basis through implementing adequate programs of regular scheduled contacts and visits.
Development, configuration, integration, testing, optimisation, implementation and debug of bespoke customer solutions.
Documentation of solutions to ensure support teams and other consultants can participate in support and onward development.
Support the sales personnel to ensure the development of profitable sales and the achievement of sales targets within the company policy procedures.
Promotes and enlarges the company product line at customer level and sees all business development opportunities through a good knowledge of the region.
Participates at trade shows, organises seminars and product demonstrations and conducts commercial training courses with customers and sales departments.
Support and assist the sales personnel in planning and developing short and long-term sales and marketing strategy within the territory to achieve given turnover targets.
Support the sales personnel to analyse customer and market needs, competitors products and sales strategies, reporting promptly new developments to management.

Minimum educational, qualifications and experience that are required to perform the job
competently.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
Matric Certificate (Grade 12) - Essential
Previous experience in the Security Industry - Essential
Practical Problem Solving experience Essential
Strong knowledge of customer relationships
Computer literate and Tech Savvy
VSM Software
Network
CCTV
