Core Description
Responsible for managing and enhancing Telkoms digital presence across all platforms both internally and externally. This role will ensure that Telkoms digital communication is seamless, engaging, and aligned with the companys brand and strategic objectives. The incumbent will manage social media platforms and manage agencies, oversee online reputation, facilitate the digital publication of corporate results, and ensure all digital channels are current, relevant, and impactful.
Job Responsibilities
Social Media Management
- Develop and implement social media strategies that enhance Telkoms brand, engage audiences, and support business objectives.
- Oversee the agencies to ensure that they create, curate, and schedule engaging digital content (text, images, video, infographics) tailored for each platform and audience.
- Ensure all digital content is aligned with Telkoms brand, tone, and messaging guidelines
- Monitor social media trends, conversations, and competitor activity, providing insights and recommendations.
- Proactively monitor and manage Telkoms online reputation across digital platforms, including social media, review sites, and forums.
- Respond to online queries, comments, and issues in a timely, professional, and brand-aligned manner.
- Collaborate with the Corporate Communications and Customer Care teams to address reputational risks and crises as they arise.
- Oversee the management and content strategy for internal digital platforms (intranet, Yammer, digital screens, employee apps).
- Ensure internal digital channels are up to date, user-friendly, and effectively support employee engagement and information sharing.
- Collaborate with IT and HR to optimise digital channel functionality and user experience.
- Facilitate the seamless digital publication of Telkoms financial and operational results, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
- Coordinate with Investor Relations, Finance, and IT to ensure results are published across all relevant digital channels.
- Track, analyse, and report on digital communications performance, including social media metrics, internal channel engagement, and online sentiment.
- Provide actionable insights and recommendations to optimise digital communication strategies.
- Ensure all digital platforms are maintained, secure, and up to date with the latest features and best practices.
- Stay abreast of digital trends, tools, and technologies, recommending innovations to enhance Telkoms digital communications.

- NQF 6: 3 year Diploma/ National Diploma
- 7 Years relevant experience, of which at least 2 years on management level
Qualifications and experience:
- Qualification in Communication, Public Relations, Digital Communication, Marketing, or related fields.
- Experience in Corporate, Digital Communications, Public Relations, Social Media management in medium to large organisation.
- Exceptional knowledge in the use of social media and other digital tools.
