You will take pride in producing accurate and quality production schedules which account for service level targets, inventory targets, plant resources and costs optimization. You will drive continuous improvement of people and processes across the planning and vendor scheduling functions. You will be the primary contact for MFG leadership, planning & commercial teams, external manufacturers and international supply chain for management of inventory and production planning.

How You Will Contribute

You will:
  • Make Quality production plan based on DSRP recommendations, Pre-SOP & other known activities in order to achieve appropriate balance between inventory, cost and customer service level. Drive rescheduling / recovery of misses with Department Mangers. Communicate about all run out plans to plant. (allowing for appropriate capacity / labor decisions); Achieve stock build targets. Labor variances not adversely effected due to planning activity. Provide direction to other planner & Vendor Schedulers on how to address forthcoming events, Including new product introduction, capacity constraints, and line shutdowns. Direct involvement in the production scheduling process in order to ensure optimum stock holdings. Regular Maintenance and Housekeeping of data to ensure Prism is making valid recommendations.
  • Work effectively with internal & external stakeholders (service providers, contract employee Labor agencies, co-Packing/ external Mfg. vendors) to ensure Production compliance to schedules based on demand in accordance to our standards, procedures and protocols. Proactively and timely report & resolve any issues to pre-empt any business impact and/or accommodate changes to production and/or customer service levels as appropriate after alignment of all stakeholders.
  • Build capability mastery on SAP planning systems. Manage inventory to KPI targets. Support IBP preparation and metric dashboard. Adhere to manufacturing and regulatory compliance standards/regulations. Leverage IL6S standard work process and own one or more of the pillar systems/processes. Participate in projects that drive value and loss elimination.
  • Drive continuous improvement with Snr Planner of scheduling procedures and processes maximizing use of current technology & challenging current procedures in order to simplify the planning process and reduce possibility of errors
  • Provide action plans for work processes & procedures to be improved & documented. Recommend shift quota changes through Pre Sop process with root cause analysis. Continuous improvement of tracking of work force requirements & Quotas with regular updates to achieve No Misses due to labor shortages or inappropriate Quotas.

Purpose

Manufacturing and Finance forms a key element of the SQCDSM Agenda on the Port Elizabeth Site. The role of the Transactional Data Coordinator is to oversee the data integrity of the SAP MTI, Manufacturing Execution & Materials Management system for the respective production areas. The position is the Subject Matter expert and Master User in the field of Variance Analysis within the SAP program.

Key Responsibility

In line with the job purpose, key accountabilities will entail the following:

Monitor and correct transaction errors
  • Correct COGI errors, cleaning of unsent process messages (CO54)
Daily DUV run for all process orders
  • Check returns processed by LLC
  • Check rejections processed by QT's (if relevant).
  • Print stock sheets, provided to LLC for counting
  • Ensure that stock count sheets are returned.
  • Ensure that stock sheets are captured and posted.
  • Run DUV at the end of each production run.
  • TECO process order post DUV run.
  • Communicate completion status of DUV run to plant controlling.
Technical completion of process orders
  • TECO process orders that are in released status, which have not been done during DUV process.
Month End Process Responsibility
  • Closing of all open process orders by last day of calendar month.
  • Provide stock sheets for ME stock count.
  • Capture ME stock count.
Systems Specialist Functionality
  • Point of contact for all MFE related queries.
  • End user training (Key Users)
Focused Improvement and Manufacturing performance reporting and analysis
  • Generate, update and distribute Factory Performance reports and graphs on Material and Labour variances (including overtime and contract labour) to Manufacturing Manager, CI Manager , Line Leaders, and Plant Controlling on a weekly basis.
  • Monitor plant Fixed Costs including M&R spend by period by line and analyze trends.
  • Investigate line variances and review with Line Leaders.
  • Weekly tracking and review of productivity initiatives identified during the Contract process.
IL6S Principles

Person Specification:

In order to succeed in this role, it is expected that the ideal candidate will have:
  • Completed Tertiary (3 year) qualification diploma / degree in manufacturing / operations or finance.
  • Minimum two to four years experience in a Manufacturing or Finance environment.
  • Computer proficiency in SAP, Excel (advanced), Outlook, Word.
  • Complete and thorough knowledge of SAP MTI (Manufacturing Execution & Materials Management)
