Test Analyst (Automation & Manual)

Our client in the Finance sector requires a Test Analyst (Automation & Manual) for a permanent role, Hybrid, Johannesburg The role's purpose is to ensure that all solutions meet the requirements and achieve sustainable quality by conducting functional and non-functional testing.

Testing Overview: 70% Automation experience and 30% manual testing experience

Responsibilities and Work Outputs

The person in this role is responsible for end-to-end manual testing of business solutions. The testing includes functionality, performance, reliability, stability, compatibility, and integration with other legacy or external systems.

• Assist in accurately identifying and addressing gaps between requirements and existing environments.
• Ensure user stories are clearly defined with correct acceptance criteria.
• Set quality standards upfront and ensure they are achieved.
• Create and update test plans.
• Document, maintain, and monitor test scenarios, acceptance criteria, and results.
• Execute and maintain manual regression tests.
• Demonstrate deliverables to key stakeholders.
• Test big data and verify correct outputs.
• Collaborate with other test analysts to share business knowledge and enable accurate system integration and end-to-end testing.
• Report on QA practices, trends, and solutions to optimize work processes.
• Contribute to the team's test coverage and minimize defects.
• Promote collective ownership for testing.
• Maintain agreed quality standards.

Qualifications, Experience, And Knowledge

• Minimum requirement: Diploma in IT Technology.
• Preferred: Degree in BSC/IT.
• Preferred qualifications: ISTQB/ISEB testing certification.
• At least 3 years of investment testing experience.
• At least 5 years of testing experience.
• Exposure to diverse IT projects using various testing tools and techniques.
• Strong knowledge of manual testing tools.
• Proficient in SQL.
• Skills in integration testing.
• Experience working in an agile environment.
