Systems Engineer II

The purpose of the Senior Systems Engineer is to effectively manage IBM servers and AIX operating systems availability, performance, configurations, and improvements, whilst performing technical support and system administration activities, and providing efficient, fit-for-purpose solutions for current and future AIX rollouts or projects. As a Senior Systems Engineer, this involves leveraging in-depth system engineering knowledge on designing, developing, implementing, testing, maintaining, and monitoring AIX systems and processes, including documentation of and execution of Disaster Recovery (DR) procedures. This role collaborates with relevant IT teams and business stakeholders, advising on system engineering best practices pertaining to AIX, whilst managing system incidents, vendor escalations, and resolution as per agreed service levels and quality standards. This role is part of a team of Unix/Linux Systems Engineers and Administrators supporting assigned systems, platforms, and associated technologies in the enterprise.
