The Tiered Supports Specialist works in the Student and Family Resources Department and supports schools on the implementation of tiered supports practices.
Description
Applications must be submitted by Wednesday, May 21, 2025. Description: Under the direction of the Tiered Supports Coordinator(s), the Tiered Supports Specialist Classroom Coach provides training and coaching support to classroom teachers, with a focus on elementary classrooms. Full and part-time positions may be available. Essential Job Duties: 1. Conduct observations of classroom teachers and their use of the following practices in the classroom: a. classroom management strategies b. social-emotional learning c. supportive practices 2. Provide ongoing coaching to classroom teachers to help improve classroom management practices. 3. Provide training to school personnel on effective classroom management practices (e.g., CHAMPS classroom management program). 4. Collaborate with administrators and other school personnel (e.g., instructional coaches, behavior support personnel) on supports provided to teachers. 5. Collaborate with other classroom coaches on best practices of coaching teachers. 6. Coordinate with district tiered supports team to align classroom practices with school-wide positive behavior supports. 7. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: 1. Current teacher certification. 2. Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship skills. 3. Strong presentation skills including the development and delivery of training to small and large groups. 4. Strong organizational and management skills. 5. Computer skills to include a working knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite as well as databases such as Encore and MIDAS (preferred). 6. Masters degrees or equivalent in education, mental health, or related field preferred. 7. Elementary teaching experience preferred. 8. Minimum of 3 years of education experience. Salary within district guidelines on Table 1.
