We are seeking a young, dynamic, and Afrikaans-speaking individual with a passion for IT security to join our team as a Trainee IT Security Technician. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual who has gained some work experience in IT and is eager to build a career in cybersecurity.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in monitoring, identifying, and responding to cybersecurity threats.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of security protocols, firewalls, and other protective measures.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and assist in risk mitigation efforts.
- Provide technical support related to security solutions and best practices.
- Assist in compliance and security audits to ensure adherence to company and industry standards.
- Stay up to date with the latest security threats, trends, and technologies.
- Work closely with senior security engineers and IT teams to enhance cybersecurity measures.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Passion for IT security and cybersecurity.
- Afrikaans-speaking (fluent in written and spoken communication).
- Some prior work experience in IT support, networking, or cybersecurity is beneficial.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles, threats, and best practices.
- Ability to work well in a team and under pressure.
- Eagerness to learn and develop in the cybersecurity field.
Any of the following certifications (or similar) will be a massive advantage:
- CompTIA Secure Infrastructure Specialist (CSIS)
- CompTIA Security Analytics Professional (CSAP)
- CompTIA Secure Cloud Professional (CSCP)
