Job description
**Role summary**
The Clinical Engineering Technician is to provide support to the Technical Services Department in order to ensure quality patient care in accordance with hospital standards / policies. The incumbent is also is responsible for and is held accountable for his/her own acts and omissions.
• *Key work output and accountabilities**
- Responsibility for the management of all clinical equipment
- Maintenance of all clinical related equipment per manufacturer’s specifications and Health Technology regulations
- Interaction and training of all staff regarding medical equipment
- Purchasing and motivating for the purchasing of medical equipment
- Interaction with Clinical Equipment Co-ordinators, Medical Equipment Maintainers and Clinical Engineering Technician Assistants (CETAs) on technical and financial issues related to clinical equipment
- Reporting on clinical equipment to the Technical Services Manager
- Planning and executing regular equipment services to comply with health and safety regulations
