This exciting opportunity is available within Broker Solutions (Commercial Underwriting) based at Alice Lane Sandton offices.

What will make you successful in this role?

Assume overall underwriting responsibility for the Agri Assets portfolio with the explicit goal to support profitable growth and establish Santam as the undisputed industry leader.

Principle Accountabilities Include

• Responsible for the profitability of the Agri Assets portfolio (shared responsibility with Broker Services)
• Develop, implement and manage appropriate underwriting rules for the Agri Assets portfolio aligned with Santams underwriting rules, rating structures and strategic objectives in collaboration with Actuarial services
• Provide technical advice to staff, clients and intermediaries
• Investigate, draft and maintain policy wordings
• Understand, translate and champion the underwriting needs of intermediaries, staff and clients
• Develop market intelligence for benchmarking
• Assist KAMs to negotiate and sign-off on new bespoke products and maintain current bespoke product
• Identify underwriting trends and address pro-actively
• Support the development and maintenance of risk management solutions to the motor segment
• Establish and maintain relationships with external market experts and relevant industry associations

Knowledge

• In depth Agri Assets technical underwriting skills and knowledge
• Expert knowledge in Agri Assets underwriting
• Extensive short-term insurance knowledge
• Thorough knowledge of the Mainframe policy system (can be beneficial)
• Santam product knowledge (can be beneficial)
