HPC - Future Africa Conference & Event General Assistant Vacancy
Job Purpose
The Future Africa Conference & Event General Assistant is responsible for preparing the Future Africa venue, setting up, servicing, and clearing it for conferences and other events across multiple sections. This includes assisting with general duties, catering, cleaning, and asset management, as well as ushering for events as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Unlocking & locking venues on a daily basis and key management accordingly.
- Ensure all conference room equipment is available and ready for use in good working order
- Ensure the setup of conference rooms as per clients requirements across different venues within Future Africa premises.
- To assist with the setup of all AV equipment as and when required.
- Ensure the clearing up and resetting of the conference venues after the events have concluded for the day.
- Willingness to support FA Hub staff as and when required.
- Assist with implementing instructions from Conference & Events Managers to assist Conference & Events Coordinators.
- Conduct daily stocktaking of venue supplies and report replacement requirements.
- Ensure being presentable and in uniform when on duty.
- Provide communication details to colleagues in all departments to ensure ongoing support for the client during the event.
- Assist with other general asset and furniture movement requirements on campus.
- Assist with general stock deliveries for the FACC and FA Accommodation.
- Ensure a good working relationship with UPSS officers on site and FA Reception staff to support general SOPs for client-facing processes.
- Matric Certificate
- 1 to 2 years of experience
- 2 to 4 years of experience
- Tertiary diploma in general management, hospitality management or similar
- Knowledge of concepts, principles, and practices related to event planning, production, and associated public relations.
- Knowledge of the campus infrastructure and ability to learn in-depth management of these spaces.
- Knowledge of Future Africa and its mission, goals, objectives, programs, policies, and achievements, and the ability to learn within the evolving organisation.
Shifts as required by operations
Will be required to work public holidays.
