Melting department within a manufacturing iron foundry requires a foreman.
Job requirements:
- Grade 12
- A certificate/diploma in supervision is essential
- Computer literate
- Must have solid production experience
- Must have a minimum of 3 years proven experience in a similar position and environment (manufacturing)
- Tolerance for stress and the ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Good problem solving skills and the ability to take initiative.
- Quality orientation and Safety awareness.
- Ability to work independently.
- Honesty & Integrity.
Job responsibilities:
- To ensure that employees are trained and competent (according to operational procedures, current quality and safety requirements)
- To reduce and maintain budgeted costs in Department
- To analyse production requirements and at the same time produce high quality metal on time, in spec. and without downtime to HWS
- To maintain standard of equipment being used
- To ensure that QOS, Audits and CAR’s are updated and maintained
- To direct technical/mechanical operations and ensure that Melt Shop is run efficiently
- To ensure that all furnaces are monitored and recorded with respect to wear and power readings.
- This is a working Foreman position
- Reports to: Melting Manager
