Mac Brothers has a vacancy available for a service technician in Durban.
Job responsibilities:
- Perform troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance on commercial food service equipment including, but not limited to, refrigeration equipment, cooking equipment, beverage equipment, and dish machines
- Demonstrate effective troubleshooting and problem solving skills
- Define service problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions about work needed to be performed
- Effectively manage time and resources to control costs, enhance efficiencies, and meet commitments
- Communicate effectively with internal and external customers
- Build strong customer relationships and build knowledge and understanding of new and existing customer needs/expectations
- Effectively communicate with the following individuals:

- Customers - regarding repairs or alternative solutions
- Parts - to order correct parts
- Services Manager or Group Technical Manager regarding difficulties experienced
- Suppliers / Factory as needed for help diagnosing problems with the equipment
- Promote appropriate Mac Brothers services, products and maintenance programs
- Attend appropriate technical and manufacturer training (internally and externally)
- Obtain additional technical licenses and certifications as appropriate
- Train team members and peers on best practice methods of service and maintenance
- Perform duties within the code of conduct policy stipulated by Mac Brothers Catering Equipment (Pty) Ltd
- Completion of all necessary (verbal and written) reports
- Must be willing to work extended hours when required, be available nights, weekends, holidays as required to meet department operational needs
- Undertakes such other duties as maybe required from time to time in order that Mac Brothers Catering Equipment (Pty) Ltd may meet its objectives
Job requirements:
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- N2 minimum Electrical/Refrigeration qualification
- Relevant 3 yrs. field experience in electrical/refrigeration
- Proven ability to work successfully under pressure, to prioritize tasks, schedule work and meet commitments
- Excellent management, organizational and administrative skills along with excellent written and verbal communication skills are required
- Ability to foster a strong, cohesive team environment and work in a fast-paced, high performing work place where deadlines are critical and both internal and external customers are demanding
- Computer Literate
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel throughout the country
