Job description
The Warehouse & Logistics Manager is responsible for planning, organising, and controlling all warehouse operations to ensure the efficient, safe, and accurate storage and distribution of goods. The role focuses on inventory accuracy, operational efficiency, staff management, cost control, and compliance with health and safety standards.
Responsibilities
Warehouse operations Management
Plan and manage receiving, storage, picking, packing and dispatch.
Establish and monitor warehouse KPIs (receiving accuracy, picking accuracy and delivery on time, including monitoring of expired stock)
Identify and lead process improvement initiatives
Standardize procedures and documentation.
Monitor KPIs such as order accuracy, dispatch timeliness, and inventory turnover.
Optimize warehouse layout and workflow for efficiency
Inventory and stock controls (including demand planning)
Maintain accurate inventory records, stock integrity and ensure proper stock control procedures ate in place.
Oversee cycle counts and stock takes
Investigate and resolve stock variances, damages and losses. Ensure timely communication to management on any variances or losses
Develop and maintain demand forecasts based on historical sales data, market trends, and business insights.
Collaborate with sales, marketing, and supply chain teams to gather information and validate demand assumptions.
Monitor and analyze inventory levels, sales performance, and market conditions to adjust forecasts as needed.
Identify and communicate potential supply chain risks and opportunities to relevant stakeholders.
Prepare and present demand planning reports and metrics to management.
Continuously improve demand planning processes and methodologies to enhance forecast accuracy.
People management
Recruit, train and manage Warehouse Supervisor and staff
Set performance objectives and conduct performance appraisals
Manage staff schedules, overtime, discipline and leave.
Foster a positive work environment and resolve conflicts promptly.
Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork and continuous improvement, in line with the We Lead principles.
Cost control and budgeting
Prepare and manage the warehouse operating budget
Control labour, equipment and operational costs
Monitor supplier and transport costs related to warehouse and logistics operations (courier company costs)
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in supply chain management, Logistics or Operations Management or related fields
Six sigma/ lean training
CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional) Advantageous
CPIM (Certified in planning and Inventory Management) Advantageous
Experience
810 years of Warehouse Management/ Logistics experience with a minimum of 4 years experience leading the full warehouse function.
Strong knowledge of Warehouse and Logistics processes
Statistical modelling for inventory management and demand planning
SAP Warehouse Management or other SAP related tools and techniques for Warehouse and Logistics.
