Purpose of Role: Responsible for inspecting, repairing and replacing furnace and ladle linings, ensuring equipment availability inline with production requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
- Inspection: Inspect the lining of furnaces and ladles according to the required schedule, ensuring they are safe to use prior to production startup.
- Repair: Make necessary repairs inline with best practice to prolong the service life of the lining of the unit.
- Replacement: Breakout and install new linings as required. Perform sinter melt operation in accordance with best practice and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.
- Any equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered for candidates that have the ability to perform the objectives above.
- 5 years experience in relining induction furnaces, bottom pour and tea-pot ladle systems.
- Matric (Grade 12) or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Valid forklift license (Advantageous). Overhead crane license (Advantageous).
- Ability to read and interpret documents.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
