A great opportunity to manage a flagship restaurant, offering classic dining in a sophisticated yet relaxed atmosphere to discerning patrons. The restaurant forms part of a boutique hotel. the standard is impeccable, yet warm and personal. We are searching for a person who has a good general knowledge, and who can very comfortably engage with high end clientele on various topics - from world events to food and wine trends.
In the capacity of Restaurant Manager you will be responsible for the overall quality of the dining experience. The role involves a wide variety of duties, including planning, preparation, staffing, stock control, service standards and training. The person must be organised, professional, and a very strong leader that cannot be intimidated.
The following requirements are essential to apply.
* Grade 12
* Valid Drivers Licence
* Formal Tertiary Hospitality Qualification (min NQF5)
* Strong leadership
* Effective communication
* Socially perceptive personality
* Effective mentoring skills
Experience and Knowledge
* 3 years' management experience.
* 3 years experience in people development & training
* Experience in personnel management,
* Working knowledge of labour law
* Knowledge with expense budgets
* Annual budgeting & strategic planning
* Processes for personal services eg: customer needs
assessment, quality standards, evaluation
* Business management principles including resource allocation,
human resource modelling, leadership technique, production
methods, coordination of people and resources.
* Computer literacy in MS Office
